100th Anniversary Bishop's Letter
Dear Father Strządała and Parishioners of St. Joseph's Parish,
Thank you for inviting me to join in celebrating the 100th Anniversary of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Polish Church in Hackensack. During these 100 years, St. Joseph's has served as a spiritual home for those immigrating to the United States from their native Poland. The parishioners have worked together to establish a parish that would enable all to feel welcome whether they were native born Poles or Americans.
It has been my honor and pleasure to visit the parish 3 times over the last 5 years in my role as the Regional Bishop of Bergen County. Each time I have joyfully celebrated the liturgy and met the parish staff in a setting of great warmth and hospitality.
Though we look back in gratitude to God for his generosity over the last 100 years, we also look forward and hope that the same loving God acting through the Holy Spirit will enable yet more generations of believers to grow in the knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.
I extend my most heartfelt blessing to the entire St. Joseph's community. I know that under the guidance of your new pastor you will be as blessed in the future as you have been in the past.
Yours in Christ,
Most Rev. John W. Flesey
